Overview
For this micro-credential, artifact submissions must correspond to the eight components of the SIOP model to ensure that students’ learning is scaffolded yet rigorous. This vocabulary binder is meant to support student’s acquisition of target vocabulary terms through multimodal associations, which corresponds to the “Practice and Application” component of the SIOP model. Students get the opportunity to write the English definition, their home language definition, a sample sentence, as well as include an associated picture. The vocabulary binder can also be implemented throughout other learning activities that serve as recall opportunities.
